Making prescription stop smoking medications available
This NEW service from the NCSCT aims to support organisations to make prescription stop smoking aids (cytisinicline and varenicline) available and accessible to people who smoke.
Led by Clinical Consultant Lou Ross the NCSCT team can offer consultancy and access to resources to individual local authorities and NHS trusts to facilitate provision of these effective and cost-effective life-saving medications. See below for more details.
This is initially a six month project part-funded by a donation granted by Viatris, an international pharmaceutical company specialised in the manufacturing, packaging and marketing of Belnifrem (cytisinicline). This financial donation is the extent of the involvement in this project by Viatris.
Start date: April 1st 2026.
