The NHS Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT) and the NCSCT Community Interest Company expects its directors, staff and partners to act in an ethically responsible and professional manner and in keeping with the aims of the organisations.

Andy McEwen has received travel funds and hospitality from, and undertaken research and consultancy for, pharmaceutical companies that manufacture or research products aimed at helping smokers to stop. These products include NRT (nicotine replacement therapies), Champix (varenicline) and Zyban (bupropion) and the companies include Pfizer, Novartis and GSK Consumer Healthcare. This has led to payments to him personally and to his institution. He has received research grants from medical charities and government departments. Andy receives payment for providing training to smoking cessation specialists and receives royalties from books on smoking cessation. He is also Programme Director of the UK National Smoking Cessation Conference (UKNSCC).

Programme Director of the UK National Smoking Cessation Conference (UKNSCC). She is employed by NHS Leeds who have been recipients of research funds from the National Institute of Health Research.
